Welcome to the world, Ella Rose Sherrod!!

Your mama was such a trooper leading up to your birth. She tried literally everything
to get labor started naturally, but being so active throughout her pregnancy, meant that these extra labor circuits didn’t do too much for her.
So, she opted for a medical induction once she was 41 weeks.
It was scheduled originally for one date, then the hospital called her to push it because they didn’t have enough beds,
and too many other moms were coming in in labor.
But finally on the 26th she was able to come in and start the induction process.

And wow….it didn’t take much to get her body grooving into labor!
After her 2nd dose of cytotec, she was 5cm, 80% effaced, and water broken….
After this, things quickly intensified, and within less than 2 hours, she was 9cm!

Because of how intense things got in that hour & a half span, she did request an
epidural and after this was placed was when they realized she was already 9cm.
It was at this point that I arrived to the hospital, while the epidural was being placed,
so when I finally was let back into their labor room right after her cervix check…
we were all kind of in shock of how quickly things were progressing as a first time mom!!!
But SO excited at the same time, to soon be meeting this sweet baby girl of hers!
After a few hours of resting and laboring down, we started the pushing process and that
didn’t take long at all either! Probably within about 15 contractions or so,
Baby Ella Rose was here!!!

At 2:39PM, Miss Ella was born, and what a cute, chunky thing she was!
Letting everyone know she had arrived!!!
It took a bit for Ella to settle down after her quick arrival, but once she
got latched onto Mama, and the room around her calmed down, so did she.
And she was just content as can be after that. Such a sweetheart.

So so proud of this precious couple & how they educated themselves all along the way,
how they advocated for what was important to them & their baby girl’s birth,
how they handled such an intense period of labor, and then just enjoyed
this special time of welcoming their baby girl into the world.
It was such a joy to be a part of such a special day for their little family.

I can’t wait to see where life takes this sweet little girl of theirs!
They are amazing parents already, and I know Ella will be even more amazing because of them!
