Welcome to the world, little Miss Evie!!

Your Mama was convinced you would be born after your due date (September 29th) and be born in October around her own birthday! But boy were we surprised… you had other plans, little one!

Hannah had her final midwife appointment on the 27th, and to everyone’s surprise, was already
3-4cm dilated, bulging bag of water, and baby girl was low! Her midwife did a membrane sweep at her request, and literally within about an hour, she started contracting. She called me & we started texting back and forth over the next few hours as things rapidly intensified.

I told her to call her midwives about going into the birth center. Contractions had quickly gone to only 2.5min apart and very intense. It was now traffic time in Dallas, and I had at least an hour drive ahead of me. I was convinced I’d miss this birth as I’m hitting more & more traffic pockets… But as I arrive & get out of the car, I see Mama & Daddy slowly walking in too. I quickly grab my doula & photography gear, and follow them inside. As I’m closing the front door behind me, I hear Mama let out a loud moan/grunt and I knew we would be meeting this baby girl really soon! The midwives were getting her into bed as I rounded the corner into the birth suite, and the very top of baby’s head is visible. Only about 10 minutes later, this sweet baby girl came out into her Mama’s arms… pink, crying, and quickly snuggled into her Mama’s chest.

It was a wildly fast & unexpected ride. I didn’t even have time to pull out anything from my Doula bag….but she didn’t need it anyway! She completely rocked her baby’s birth!

Congratulations to this Mama & Daddy on their first baby & the growth of their little family.
This little girl is the most calm, sweetest little newborn ever! I couldn’t be more happy for them!
I can’t wait to see where life takes this sweet little girl of theirs!
They are amazing parents, and I know Evie will be even more amazing because of it!
