Welcome to the world, little miss Ella!!
Your mama worked so hard throughout her pregnancy, taking the best care of you that she could. Despite multiple health issues, most of which the doctors could not figure out….months on bed rest at home, and almost two weeks of bed rest in the hospital, this Mama brought her baby girl safely into this crazy world. On Wednesday morning, July 6th, after an evening induction, Shelby called me saying it was time to meet her at the hospital. Contractions had started and they were coming on strong.
So, I grabbed my gear and got on my way. At 9:45, while on my way to the hospital, Shelby let me know that her doctor had come in to check her, and she was 4cm, moving along well. I knew her previous labor had gone fairly quickly, especially for a first birth, so I figured her birth this time would go quickly as well. However, HOW quickly it went surprised us all!
I arrived to the hospital around 10:15am, and Shelby was already feeling the urge to push. Her nurse checked her cervix, and found she was already 10cm and baby was very low. The medical team rushed in to get the room ready while the doctor was called and on his way.
Once the doctor arrived, it only took two contractions with pushing for Shelby to have her sweet baby girl in her arms! Talk about a whirlwind birth!!! I think we were all in a bit of shock at how quickly it went!
I could not be more proud of Shelby. How she held herself together through a crazy pregnancy and birth, and looked beautiful all the way through it!
I can’t wait to see where life takes her sweet girl, Ella. I know she’ll go far!
