About a month early, at only 36 weeks gestation…. after a VERY unexpected day for Mama, this precious little girl made her memorable entrance into this world.
Emerson had been planning the most beautiful home birth, but baby girl had other plans.
After her blood pressures had been slowly creeping up the past couple of weeks, Emerson started becoming symptomatic for preeclampsia. So, I told her to call her midwife, who sent her straight to the hospital. And it was a good thing too… Her blood pressures had rapidly spiked throwing her into severe preeclampsia. On top of this, baby girl was breech which we later found out was likely due to a uterine anomaly that no one knew she had. So, shortly after admittance to L&D, they started her on IV Magnesium and a few other BP meds, and started to prep her for a c-section. This was definitely not this sweet Mama’s plan for her baby girl’s arrival, but it was the safest approach for both her & baby.
And her precious baby girl, Joy, came out so perfect… and instantly settled down the second she was in her Mommy & Daddy’s arms!
You have the best parents, sweet girl. I hope you have the most beautiful life…
