Talk about a whirlwind birth story….but man, was this a special day for this family, welcoming their
baby boy into the world early morning, Thanksgiving Day!
This Mama had stayed at 2cm for several weeks, scheduled for induction on Monday the 29th, and was absolutely sure she was not going into labor before then.
However, baby Nash had other plans! Thanksgiving Eve, Candace started suddenly getting contractions,
hot and heavy for about 2 hours before deciding to head to the hospital and see what was going on.
Still convinced she would be sent home, that it was false labor.
However, when I received her texts at around 10:30 that night, I could tell it was time.
I rushed to get myself ready, grab my gear, and get out the door, arriving to the hospital at 11:30pm…..
Candace was 6cm and baby was LOW in the pelvis.
Candace was painfully waiting for her epidural when I arrived,
and was finally able to receive it about an hour later… she was now 8cm.
Shortly after that, her OBGYN arrived to break her water, and discovered she was 10cm and ready to push! She began pushing moments later, and at 12:56am, Thanksgiving morning, Baby Nash was born…
The emotions & relief filling the room in that moment were so palpable, and unforgettable.
Especially once we finally heard baby Nash’s sweet cries. It was such an awesome experience to be a part of!!!
So, here’s a video/photo montage of that special day…. Enjoy!
