Samuel Anderson Huckaby
Born March 9, 2021 at 7:50am, via scheduled C-section.
He was 8lb 9oz, and 21 inches long at birth.

I was so excited to do my son’s newborn photos, that I didn’t really think about how hard it would be after having a c-section… Thanks to my husband’s assistance, I was able to get some adorable shots after a few days’ hard work! I never believed other photographers when they said doing their own child’s newborn photos was way harder than taking other people’s baby’s photos….but man, they are right!
I guess it’s hormonal, or the baby can smell you, or they just want to be held by Momma & not be posed!
Not sure what it was, but most of the time, he was NOT having it!!!

After the 3 different days I tried at mini-newborn sessions with him, I was able to snag
the majority of the poses I wanted, in the sets that I wanted to pose him in.
Then, it took me about 3 weeks to edit, between being sleep-deprived and caring for not only my newborn, but also my 4yr old, and myself after surgery.  Definitely took longer to edit than it usually takes me!! Thankfully, they are done though, and I am in love with the memories I will now have of him forever at this stage of life.
